# Other settings

> Where to find update, workspace folder, terminal, browser, voice, appearance, shortcut and notification settings.

## General

**Software update** shows the **Installed version** and **Check for updates**. On Windows and Linux, **Restart to update** appears once a new version has downloaded. On macOS, the downloaded version installs when you quit BioBase. See [Install BioBase](/getting-started/install).

**Data Agent workspace folder** sets where a workspace's files download when you open it. Select **Browse** to choose a folder, or **Use default** to return to the "BioBase folder in Documents". Workspaces already on this device stay where they are.

General also holds tab order and editor options.

## Terminal

**GPU Acceleration** sets how terminal panes render. On Windows, **Default Shell** sets the shell for new terminal panes. Read more about splits, rendering and dictation in [The terminal](/workspace/terminal).

## Browser

BioBase opens links and HTML files in a built-in browser tab. The **Browser** pane sets that tab's **Default Home Page**, **Link Routing** and **Session & Cookies**.

## Voice

**Enable Voice Dictation** turns dictation on for the terminal, editor and composer. **Dictation Mode** is **Toggle** or **Hold**. Select a **Speech Model** before dictation works. Read more about starting dictation and its states in [The terminal](/workspace/terminal).

## Appearance

The **Appearance** pane sets the theme and **UI Zoom**, and shows or hides the sidebar and status bar.

## Shortcuts

Shortcuts are editable from the **Shortcuts** pane, including **Split terminal right**, **Split terminal down** and **Dictation**. See [The terminal](/workspace/terminal) for the default key combinations for splitting panes.

## Notifications

**Enable Notifications** turns on desktop notifications for BioBase. **Terminal Bell** notifies you when a background terminal rings its bell.

## Stats & Usage

**Stats & Usage** shows the same **Usage and billing** panel as [Data Agent settings](/settings/data-agent).

## Privacy & Telemetry

**Share usage data and masked replays** turns analytics on or off. Read what it collects and when collection stops in [Privacy and analytics](/settings/privacy).
